Dakota Wesleyan (S.D.) Track & Field Performance Recap
The Dakota Wesleyan track and field team had an solid showing at the, hosted, Snow Tiger Open, with several athletes setting personal records (PRs) and contributing to strong team performances across a multiple events.
Track Events:
60 Meter Dash:
- Mikey Hart (Jr.) stood out with a solid 7.23 PR in the finals, finishing 5th.
- Freshman Sean Deblieck recorded a 7.36 PR in the prelims, finishing 10th overall.
- Gavin Haselhorst (Jr.) also had a personal best in the prelims with a 7.40 PR, while freshman Trevor Sladky recorded a 7.48 PR and Carter Harris (Fr.) ran a 7.59 PR.
800 Meter Run:
- Ian Chrisler (Fr.) clocked a 2:08.18 PR, finishing 8th in the finals.
1000 Meter Run:
- Gage Dietterle (So.) delivered a strong performance with a 2:55.25 PR, placing 2nd in the finals.
- Zachary Robinson (Fr.) also set a personal record with a time of 3:02.90 PR, finishing 4th.
60m Hurdles (42"):
- Barrett Nielsen (Jr.) had a personal best of 9.00 PR, placing 4th in the finals. Nielson is now #6 in Tigers all-time records.
4x400 Meter Relay:
- The relay team of Gage Hohn (Fr.), Ian Chrisler (Fr.), Barrett Nielsen (Jr.), and Jaden Middleton (Fr.) finished 4th with a time of 3:36.10.
Field Events:
- Ethan Watson (Fr.) hit the B-standard for NAIA in Shot Put, throwing 15.89m PR to place 1st and to become #5 in Tigers all-time records for his event.
- Kurt Dringman (So.) had a throw of 10.13m.
- In the High Jump, Gage Hohn (Fr.) cleared 1.75m PR, finishing in 1st place.
- Carter Harris (Fr.) topped the Pole Vault with a personal best of 4.20m PR, while Gage Hohn cleared 3.30m PR. Harris has moved up two spots on the Tigers pole vault records, and is now #2. Narrowly missing the school record at 4.30m.
- Jaden Middleton (Fr.) led the Long Jump with a leap of 6.41m PR, narrowly edging out Quenton Walls (So.), who posted a 6.39m PR. AJ Moore (Fr.) followed closely with a 6.35m PR.
- In the Triple Jump, Jaden Middleton (Fr.) jumped 13.56m PR, finishing 1st, while AJ Moore (Fr.) jumped 13.11m PR finishing 2nd and Quenton Walls (So.) leapt 12.98m PR. Middleton is now #6 in Tigers all-time records for triple jump.
- In the Weight Throw, Ethan Watson (Fr.) earned 5th place with a throw of 14.38m PR.
Conclusions:
Overall, the team had several standout performances, especially among the freshmen, who set multiple PRs and contributed to key finishes in both individual and relay events.
