The Dakota Wesleyan Tigers had their first indoor meet back from break today, as they traveled to Dordt University to comepte in the Dordt Open.
Track Events:
Sprints-
- Mikey Hart (Jr.) delivered another strong performance running a 7.25.Finding consistency on the track.
- Sean DeBlieck (Fr.) ran in the 60 meter with a final time of 7.38.
- Trevor Sladky (Fr.) competed in the 60 meter hitting a PR of 7.47.
- Gage Hohn (Fr.) attacked the hurdles for the first time of his track career, posting a 10.01 time.
- Ian Chrisler (Fr.) ran his first collegiate 400m with a finish of 55.15.
Distance-
- Kade Watson (So.) returned to the track running a 2:06 time in the 800m.
- Zachary Robinson (Fr.) hit a PR of a 5:22 in the 1 mile.
Field Events:
Jumps-
- Quenton Walls (So.) placed 5th in the finals for long and triple jump. For long jump he marked a mark of 6.23. In Triple he jumped a 12.84.
- Sean DeBlieck (Fr.) also jumped in his first collegiate meet. He jumped a 5.66m.
- Trevor Sladky (Fr.) jumped for the first time this year leaping to a 6.21m jump.
- Gage Hohn (Fr.) took part in the long jump for the first time in his track career. He jumped a 6.0
- A'Johntez Moore (Fr.) jumped in the triple jump event. Hitting a season consistence with his best being a 13.40m. Rising with each jump.
- Carter Harris (Fr.) vaulted at the open. He cleared a height of 3.85m.
Throws-
- Christian Hanna (Sr.) entered his first collegiate meet in the shot put. He threw a 9.90m throw to start his field career.
- Ethan Watson (Fr.) the freshman threw in shot put and the weight throw. For shot he placed 3rd overall with his best mark being 15.43m. In weight his best was 13.90m finsihing him at 9th overall.
Conclusion:
The Tigers plan to use the Dordt open as a learning expereince and look ahead to compete in the Myrle Hanson Open in Spearfish, S.D. The meet will be hosted by Black Hills State University.
