Gerber tallies personal best, as Tigers compete at national meet
BROOKINGS, S.D. – Lydia Gerber (Canton, S.D.) shined for the Dakota Wesleyan University track and field teams with a career day as Claire Stoller (Madison, S.D.) and Jared Rabenberg (Britton, S.D.) also competed at the NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championships on Friday and Saturday in Brookings, S.D.
BROOKINGS, S.D. – Lydia Gerber (Canton, S.D.) shined for the Dakota Wesleyan University track and field teams with a career day as Claire Stoller (Madison, S.D.) and Jared Rabenberg (Britton, S.D.) also competed at the NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championships on Friday and Saturday in Brookings, S.D.
On Gerber's second attempt in the triple jump, she tallied a personal best jump of 11.56 meters (37-11 feet). The jump was not only a personal best for Gerber but was the second-best leap in DWU women's indoor history. Following the opening heat, she was in first place. After the final two heats competed, Gerber finished the day in 12th place.
Fellow jumping mate, Stoller, also competed in the same heat as Gerber. Stoller recorded three marks with her final jump of the day being 11.05 meters (36-03 feet.). She finished the day in 24th place.
On Friday, Rabenberg competed in the high jump, as he recorded a jump of 1.96 meters (6-05.25 feet). His mark was good for 16th place.
The meet completed the indoor season, as the outdoor season begins for the Tigers on March 28 at the BVU Outdoor Invite in Storm Lake, Iowa.
