Tigers Ranked 4th in Men's Wrestling Conference Preseason Poll

Mitchell, S.D. -- The Dakota Wesleyan University (DWU) Tigers have secured the 4th spot in the conference preseason poll for men's wrestling. Coach Martin Mueller shared his insights into the team's season preparation, stating, "We show up every single day to improve. Being able to conclude each day with success in one area of the game is what we plan to do. The rest will take care of itself."

The preseason poll, compiled by the NAIA and determined by a panel of head coaches representing each conference, demonstrates the growing recognition of DWU's wrestling program. Each team's ranking was carefully calculated, with the highest and lowest votes removed to provide a fair representation of each program's standing. The results of the poll are as follows:

  • Doane (Neb.) - 215 points
  • Morningside (Iowa) - 154 points
  • Concordia (Neb.) - 151 points
  • Dakota Wesleyan (S.D.) - 107 points
  • Briar Cliff (Iowa) - 77 points
  • Northwestern (Iowa) - 77 points
  • Waldorf (Iowa) - 40 points
  • Hastings (Neb.) - 38 points

In addition to the team ranking, multiple Tigers are recognized in their respective weight classes:

  • 141 lbs:
    •  2nd: Zach Zitek

As the season approaches, the Tigers are excited to channel their hard work and individual rankings success on the mat.
