
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The Dakota Wesleyan University men's and women's cross-country teams finished 12th out of 24 teams at the Mt. Mercy Invitational Saturday in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Pacing the men's team was freshman Wyatt Baldauf (Seneca, Ill.) as he recorded the ninth best time in DWU men's cross-country history with a time of 27:07 minutes. On the women's side, Mckenna Rogers (Saint Michael, Minn.) tallied a season best by a minute in 20:31.
Justin Sorensen (Vermillion, S.D.) finished in 28:17, while Rex Schlicht (Woonsocket, S.D.) competed in his first cross-country meet of the season and notched a time of 29:25.
Layne Lewis (Plankinton, S.D.) finished in 29:28 and Zach Fieber (Goodwin, S.D.) rounded out the Tiger men with a time of 29:40.
Annika Vermeulen (Mitchell, S.D.) tallied a 45-second season best in 21:18, as Patience Nesheim (Ethan, S.D.) finished in 21:49, good for a 25-second season best.
Samantha Shoultz (Huron, S.D.) finished in 21:51, Savannah Schmidt (Plankinton, S.D.) tallied a time of 22:09 and Ashley Pruss (Tea, S.D.) notched a time of 23:22. Macey Bohl (Garretson, S.D.) added a 20-second season best with a time of 23:09, as Baylee Field (Fremont, Neb.) rounded out the Tiger women with a time of 24:34.
Both teams finish the season at the Conference Meet on Nov. 9 in Sioux Center, Iowa.
