Murphy ran in the sixth heat and was able to push herself into the fifth spot in the record books. Head Coach Matthew Rosado had this to say about the women's race; "For our first 6k, I was very pleased with ow we raced. Abby walked away with a school record and Caley looked strong to finish the race to jump into the number five spot in the record books. We have a few weeks before conference and I'm confident we will be where we need to be."
The men ran a strong race as well as the two teammates finished in the top 25. Caleb Sayler finished in 8th and Hunter Shanks finished 23rd in the race. Coach Rosado had this to say about the men's performance; "We've been looking to race smarter in the first half and I feel like we accomplished that today. Caleb looked smooth throughout the race, as well as Hunter."
