DAKOTA WESLEYAN SPLITS ANOTHER PAIR IN SIOUX CENTER, BAGLEY’S GRAND SLAM PUSHED TIGERS PAST UM-CROOKSTON 7-4

Sioux Center, Iowa – Dakota Wesleyan softball split another pair down in Sioux City against UM-Crookston this afternoon. The Tigers had a 2-0 lead through the first four innings in game one of the day before they gave up seven runs in the final three frames. Peyton Bagley put a ball out to center field to get herself to second and send McKinnely Mull across home plate. Jaden Warner followed suit and was singled out but not before Bagley scored the Tiger's second point.

In the second game, The Tigers found themselves down 1-0 after being unable to get anything going through the first three innings. Brianna Dawson would hit a single in the top of the fourth inning and it was enough to push Jaden Warner through to score. UM-Crookston would put two more runs on the board however in the same frame and be up 3-1 on Dakota Wesleyan. Jordan Blogg started the fifth inning with a quick double and Nora Nelson would get herself to first while Blogg stayed at 2nd base. Mull was struck by a pitched and this loaded all the bases for Bagley. She took her chance and smoked a ball over fence to hit her first grand slam of the season. After a scoreless fifth, the Tigers went into the final frame only ahead by three scores. Bagley got herself to first with a single with her second hit of the day. Bagley was able to get to third base after Warner grounded out to second and then McKenna Thomason grounded out for the second out of the inning. Macy Moore was allowed to first after being hit by a pitch and took advantage by stealing second. With two runners in scoring position, Brianna Dawson came up to the plate and found the hole in center field and pushed her teammates home for a pair of scores. Ivy Woolwine would give up two hits in the bottom of the seventh but would hold onto the win as the Tigers defeated UM-Crookston 7-4.

Up Next: The Tigers will be back at the Dordt Dome in Sioux Center, Iowa for three more games next weekend starting with Valley City State on February 16th at 12 p.m.
