Melbourne, Fla. –
In their second match up against the Gray Wolves of Lourdes University, the DWU softball team shut them out, 4-0. The Tigers struck first with a Brianna Dawson single to center field and Jaden Warner sprinted from first all the way home for the first score. Going into the seventh, DWU needed to get a few more runs on the board. With bases loaded, McKinnely Mull stepped up and hammered the ball deep into center to send two teammates home. Reagan Grossi added the icing to the cake, stealing home for the fourth and final score for the Tigers. Ivy Woolwine would throw 45 strikes in 84 pitches to shut out the Gray Wolves through six innings before Keirstyn Krcil would come in and finish off Lourdes.
Game two the Tigers faced off a tough Keiser Seahawks team. In the bottom of the first, DWU grabbed a 2-1 lead. Nora Nelson singled out to the right side, and this allowed Jaden Warner and Peyton Bagley to get around the bases home. This would be the last lead the Tigers would have, as Keiser would score five runs in both the third and fourth innings, to take a commanding 11-2 lead. The Tigers avoided leaving the game early as they got a few more runs on the board. Warner scored on one of Keiser's fielding errors and Nelson would score as well after Brianna Dawson grounded out. Keiser would score one more run and defeated DWU 12-4. This game wrapped up the Tigers spring trip, as the Tigers finished the trip with a record of 6-6.
