Dakota Wesleyan softball's season was cut short in the final contest of the season after lighting and rain rolled into Omaha, Neb. Where the Tigers were playing the College of Saint Mary Flames. CSM took game one, 8-3 over the Tigers. In game two, the Tigers had a 1-0 lead through the first three innings, but due to incoming lighting and rain, the game was canceled. This untimely cancelation would be the end to the Tigers softball season.
DWU scored the first run in game one after Keirstyn Krcil and the defense stranded a pair of Flames in the bottom of one. Reagan Grossi put the first run on the board with a Nora Nelson single. Saint Mary responded with five runs in the second inning to take control after the second. The Tigers faught back within three runs with a pair scored in the fourth, but the Flames answered back with three of their own runs. Neither team was able to put a run on the board in the remaining innings and CSM took the one and only game 8-3.
The Tigers had a great season of individual and team records being broken. The team tied their season stolen bases with 67 of them and tied their season batting average of .319 as a team. Alyssa Burke finished her Tiger career with four individual records and all-time records. Burke finished with the stolen bases and stolen base percentage in a season record then finished at the top of DWU records in runs scored and hits. Peyton Bagley and McKinnely Mull will be chasing those same records next season. On their trip in Florida, the team broke their hits in a game record and runs in a game record with 21 runs scored on 20 hits.
This was the conclusion of the Tiger's softball season, with the Tigers finishing 18-28 overall and a conference record of 5-16.
