Tigers Take Two, Power Past Dakota State and York

Sioux Center, IA – The Dakota Wesleyan softball team put together a dominant performance, beating Dakota State (SD) this afternoon. The Tigers secured a 8-0 victory in Game 1 before closing out with a 6-2 win in Game 2 against York (NE).

Game 1: Dakota Wesleyan 8, Dakota State (SD) 0

Dakota Wesleyan showcased a dominant offensive performance, racking up 14 hits and 8 runs in an impressive 8-0 victory over Dakota State. McKinnely Mull led the charge for the Tigers, going 3-for-4 with three runs scored and two RBIs. Jaden Warner also had a standout game, finishing with three hits and two RBIs. Alessandra Ciurca and Madison Moore both crossed the plate, while Sophie Wietzema and Peyton Bagley contributed key hits to keep the offense rolling.

Pitcher Alison Ernsberger was equally dominant, delivering a shutout performance in the circle. She tossed six solid innings, allowing just five hits while striking out six and walking two. Her composure on the mound, combined with solid defensive support, kept the Trojans off the scoreboard as she threw 88 pitches to secure the win.

With the victory, Dakota Wesleyan improves to 8-3 on the season.

Game 2: Dakota Wesleyan 6, York (NE) 2

Dakota Wesleyan delivered another impressive performance, securing a 6-2 win over York with a well-rounded effort at the plate and in the circle. The Tigers racked up 10 hits, led by Ashlen Johnson, who scored three times. Jordyn Blogg and Sophie Wietzema each drove in two runs, while Peyton Bagley and McKinnely Mull added key hits to keep the offense rolling. Dakota Wesleyan's aggressive base running also played a role, with Mull swiping two bases.

On the mound, Keirstyn Krcil was dominant, allowing just one run on five hits over four innings while striking out four. Alison Ernsberger sealed the win with three strong innings, giving up just one run while fanning two. The Tigers' defense stayed sharp, limiting York (NE) to just two runs despite nine hits. Dakota Wesleyan capitalized on timely hitting and steady pitching to continue their strong start to the season.

With the victory, The Tigers improves to 9-3 on the season.
