
Tucson, Ariz. - The Dakota Wesleyan softball team capped off the week with two dominant victories in Tucson.
Game 1: Dakota Wesleyan 9, Concordia (MI.) 4
Dakota Wesleyan dominated Concordia (MI) in a 9-4 victory. The Tigers' offense was led by Peyton Bagley, who hit a home run and drove in two RBIs, while Alison Ernsberger pitched a complete game.
Ernsberger kept Concordia's hitters at bay, allowing 8 hits and 4 runs while striking out 6 in 7 innings of work. The Tigers capitalized on timely hitting, with Jaycee Tebay adding a key triple and driving in an RBI.
Dakota Wesleyan's offense exploded for 9 runs, with multiple players contributing. In addition to Bagley's home run, Ashlen Johnson also homered and drove in two RBIs, while Jaden Warner and Alessandra Ciurca each added an RBI to the effort.
The Tigers' defense was solid as well, with only two errors committed, and their pitching staff shut down Concordia's offense late in the game. Dakota Wesleyan's offense was relentless, building an insurmountable lead over the final innings to secure the win.
Game 2: Dakota Wesleyan 6, Franklin and Marshall 3
Dakota Wesleyan continued their season in gritty fashion with a 6-3 victory over Franklin & Marshall. The Tigers wasted no time, scoring four runs in the first inning and controlling the game from start to finish.
Peyton Bagley led the charge with a hit, an RBI, and two stolen bases, while McKinnely Mull and Liliana Arreola each recorded key hits and drove in runs. Avery Perkins added two RBIs, contributing to the team's offensive outburst. The Tigers' offense was sharp, capitalizing on Franklin & Marshall's three errors and making the most of their opportunities.
Keirstyn Krcil earned the win in the circle, pitching 5.1 solid innings, allowing 3 runs on 7 hits while striking out 6. Alison Ernsberger came in for the save, throwing 1.2 hitless innings with 2 strikeouts, shutting down any chance of a late rally from Franklin & Marshall.
The Tigers' defense was solid, committing just one error, and their pitching staff was dominant, holding Franklin & Marshall to just 3 runs despite a 3-run rally in the fourth.
