Despite falling 5-1 to OUAZ, Dakota Wesleyan showcased resilience and determination throughout the game. The Tigers collected nine hits, consistently putting runners on base and pressuring the OUAZ defense. Alessandra Ciurca provided the team's lone RBI in the fourth inning, driving in Madison Moore to prevent a shutout. Peyton Bagley and Ashlen Johnson also contributed with key hits, while the team displayed aggressive baserunning, with Johnson and Moore each swiping a bag.
Defensively, Dakota Wesleyan put up a strong effort, making key plays to minimize OUAZ's offensive production. Bagley was solid at third base, recording five assists, while Jaden Warner anchored first base with 11 putouts. Catcher Jordyn Blogg also contributed both at the plate and behind it, picking up a double and working with pitcher Alison Ernsberger to keep the game within reach. A massive 11-run first inning propelled Dakota Wesleyan to a commanding 13-5 victory on Wednesday night at Canyon View High School. The Tigers capitalized on early defensive miscues and never looked back, securing the win in a five-inning contest.
Dakota Wesleyan's offense exploded for nine hits, led by Ashlen Johnson, who went 2-for-3 with three RBIs, including a home run. Liliana Arreola also contributed with a two-run homer, while Peyton Bagley and Alessandra Ciurca each drove in a run. The Tigers took full advantage of five defensive errors, keeping the pressure on throughout the game.
On the mound, Keirstyn Krcil (8-2) delivered a solid performance, allowing five runs (three earned) on nine hits while striking out two in a complete-game effort.
