
SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The Dakota Wesleyan University women's basketball team won its first round game in the team's first appearance in the NAIA national tournament in 12 years Wednesday morning, and the Tigers are looking to keep the run going against No. 2 seed Davenport University.
The Panthers advanced to the second round with an 81-64 win over No. 7 Southeastern (Fla.) in the opening round Wednesday. Molly Babbs and Alex Law, scoring 16 points in the win, led DU. The Panthers shot 33-of-69 from the field, but made just 1-of-11 shots from behind the 3-point line.
DU advanced to the NAIA tournament by way of winning the Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference tournament title.

Last meeting: DWU and Davenport have never played in women's basketball.
