
MITCHELL, S.D. – Six members of the Dakota Wesleyan University women's basketball team were named Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes it was announced by the NAIA on Monday.
Leading the way for the Tigers are Erica Herrold (Dimock, S.D.), Ashley Bray (Anoka, Minn.), Amber Bray (Anoka, Minn.), Shanna Selby (Faith, S.D.), Chesney Nagel (Springfield, S.D.) and Madison Kuehl (Hartford, S.D.).
Herrold was the lone senior to receive the honor while being named to the All-GPAC First Team. Ashley Bray was also named to the All-GPAC First Team, while Amber Bray was named All-GPAC Honorable Mention earlier this month.
Nagel was a main staple for the Tiger offense this season, while Kuehl and Selby each added key contributions to the Tiger lineup in their junior seasons.
In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved junior academic status in the classroom.
