MITCHELL, S.D. – The No. 2 Dakota Wesleyan University women's basketball team took on Presentation College in a non-conference matchup and defeated the Saints, 106-54 Wednesday at the Corn Palace in Mitchell.

After 1:40 into the game, Sarah Carr (Huron, S.D.) put DWU on the scoreboard with a layup. Following a Presentation timeout, Makaela Karst (Plankinton, S.D.) connected on a layup to give the Tigers (9-0) a 10-6 lead.

Freshman Kaylee Kirk (Balaton, Minn.) nailed a 3-point shot thanks to a Rylie Osthus (De Smet, S.D.) assist. DWU finished the first quarter on a 15-4 run to hold a 28-13 lead.

Carr opened up the second quarter with a 3-point shot of her own. After a Tiger timeout a few minutes into the second quarter, Karst connected on a shot from behind the arc.

The Saints (3-6) made a pair of free throws with 6:29 left in the half. The DWU defense kept Presentation from scoring again until 8:52 left in the third quarter, as the Tigers held a 58-21 lead.

With 3:35 left in the third quarter, Shannon O'Malley (Centerville, S.D.) tossed up a layup and was fouled following the made layup. Minutes later, Kirk found Madison Mathews (Draper, S.D.) behind the 3-point line for another basket as the Tigers cruised to victory.
