Recap –

Tigers won the first quarter 15-11, using good ball movement racking up seven assists in the quarter. Jada Campbell led with six points in the quarter. DWU attacked the paint and stayed patient on offense finding the open shot and protecting the ball. Defense was also dialed up forcing seven turnovers in the quarter. The Tigers went 1-for-3 from deep with Reiner making the lone shot on a dime from Edelman.

TMU opened the second quarter in a full court press that the Tigers struggled with, committing three turnovers in a span of four minutes, and only recording four points (all from Sprakel). Halfway through the second quarter the Tigers regained their four-point lead thanks to back-to-back layups from Reiner to make it 23-19. Dakota Wesleyan would go on a 6-0 run to extend their lead to 25-19 for their largest lead of the game. The Mustangs continued their full court press forcing a couple turnovers and disrupting the Tigers offense. With one second left on the clock Ihnen pulled up from deep shooting an off-balanced left-handed shot that was nothing but net (Ihnen is right-handed).

To open the third quarter DWU continued with their plan of attack down low, feeding Campbell to put them up 36-26 for the biggest lead of the game up to that point. Rylee Rosenquist would get a three to fall and contested lay-up followed by a no look dime from Edelman to Campbell giving DWU an 11-point lead, 43-32 with 5:30 left in the quarter. DWU closed the final seven minutes of the quarter on a 18-4 run giving them a big 57-36 lead heading to the fourth.

That hot hand carried over to the final quarter having the Mustangs open the quarter hitting three free throws but then DWU going on a 13-0 run to give them a massive 31-point lead with four minutes left. Campbell led the charge with 9 of the 13 points during that stretch. Dakota Wesleyan amped up their defense in the quarter, possibly having their best quarter all year only giving up five points in the entire quarter and only one made field goal. DWU picked up the big 72-41 blowout win against a (RV) The Master University squad.
