Recap –

Dakota Wesleyan opened the contest against Saint Mary very differently than the first matchup, going basket for basket on the Flames home court. Reiner continued her offensive production from last game scoring the first six points for the Tigers. DWU was moving the ball well on offense racking up five assists in the quarter. The Tigers would held a slim 20-19 lead heading to the second quarter.

The Tigers started to pick up the pace in the second quarter playing more of their brand of basketball with feeding Campbell inside, cutting to the rim and finding the open shot. DWU outscored CSM 18-12 in the quarter being led offensively by Campbell inside with six points and Sprakel off the bench with four points of their own. The Flames were knocking down some deep range shots to keep it close, taking advantage of some late close outs on the defensive side for the Tigers. Reiner and Edelman added four points of their own during the quarter knocking down pull up jump shots. Dakota Wesleyan struggled a little from deep only going 2 for 9 in the half compared to CSM shooting 4 for 12. DWU was sloppy with the ball turning the ball over 11 times which is a high mark for the very disciplined Tiger team. DWU headed to half with a 38-31 lead.

Christensen lit a fire under the girls at halftime with the Tigers exploding for 30 points in the third quarter alone and holding the Flames to just 11. Dakota Wesleyan got their perimeter offense going shooting a near perfect 6 for 7 behind the arc. The Tigers were using ball screens and kick outs by drivers to find the open shooter behind the arc. Ihnen led the Tigers with nine points in the quarter knocking down three triples in the process. Reiner, Edelman and Aspen Hansen each added one shot from deep to round off the six total makes during the quarter. Dakota Wesleyan got back to their familiar brand of working the ball around on offense racking up eight assists in the quarter and having four players with 5+ points in the quarter alone. With a big lead heading to the fourth quarter the Tigers were playing against the clock and worked in some reserves in the closing minutes for a 86-59 final. Reiner led all scorers with 23 points on a near perfect shooting day going 10 for 11 from the floor. Campbell added 19 points and six rebounds followed by Edelman's 14 points.
