Yost Leads Tigers' as They Roll Past Mustangs, 91-70, in NAIA First Round

Langston, Okla. - Dakota Wesleyan delivered an outstanding performance in their 91-70 win over The Master's, dominating on both ends of the court. From the very beginning, the Tigers showed their offensive prowess, shooting an impressive 60.4% from the field and a scorching 92% from the free-throw line. Emma Yost was the standout player, scoring 24 points and grabbing 5 rebounds, while Rylee Rosenquist added 20 points, 6 assists, and 5 rebounds. The Tigers' offense was well-rounded, with multiple players stepping up to keep The Master's defense on its heels throughout the game.

Defensively, Dakota Wesleyan controlled the paint, outscoring The Master's 48-24 in the key and pulling down 31 rebounds to The Master's 18. The Tigers also made the most of their opportunities off turnovers, scoring 24 points from The Master's mistakes. Dakota Wesleyan's ability to limit second-chance opportunities and maintain a physical presence in the paint made it difficult for The Master's to get into a rhythm, leading to a comfortable lead as the game progressed.

While the starters were exceptional, the bench also made valuable contributions. Taliyah Hayes was a key spark off the bench, scoring 14 points, and adding depth to the Tigers' scoring. Dakota Wesleyan's depth was crucial, and their ability to rotate fresh players into the game allowed them to keep the intensity high and maintain pressure throughout the contest. With stellar performances from their starters and key contributions from the bench, Dakota Wesleyan cruised to a commanding 91-70 victory, solidifying their position for the next round of the tournament.
