DWU women’s offense is stifled in loss to BCU

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The Dakota Wesleyan University women's soccer team came out on the wrong end of a third straight 1-0 game against Briar Cliff University Tuesday in Sioux City, Iowa.

The Tigers fell behind on a goal in the 10th minute and could not find the equalizer against a stingy Charger defense. The loss drops DWU to 3-14 overall and 1-9 in the GPAC with one game remaining on the 2015 schedule.

DWU was outshot 12-3 in the game, with sophomore goalkeeper Cici Schneider (Sioux Falls, S.D.) holding the Chargers at bay for most of the game in her third straight sparkling performance in net. She made eight saves in the loss.

The game's lone goal came from BCU's Nicole Edenfield on an assist from McKayla Wessling on a shot from 25 yards out.

The Tigers conclude the 2015 season against Nebraska Wesleyan University at 1 p.m. Saturday in Lincoln, Neb. The matchup will be the last between the schools as conference foes, as NWU will leave the GPAC after the 2015-16 season.
