Wolves blank Tigers on Saturday

ABERDEEN, S.D. – The Dakota Wesleyan University women's soccer team fell 5-0 to the Northern State University, an NCAA Division II program, Saturday in Aberdeen, S.D.

The Wolves got on the board early, scoring three goals in the first half and added a pair after the break. NSU picked up goals from five different players in the win, moving DWU to 0-2 on the season. The last three games for the Tigers have come against instate NCAA Division II programs, including an exhibition earlier this month.

For DWU, Brittany Forsman (Sioux Falls, S.D.) and Ashtyn Cobb (Huron, S.D.) tallied a shot on goal as NSU outshot the Tigers 38-6 in the contest.

Senior goalkeeper Kira Miller (Rock Springs, Wyo.) did her best to keep DWU in the game as she recorded a career-high 18 saves in the loss, dropping her record to 0-2 this season.

DWU continues nonconference play when the team visits Central Christian College (Kan.) at 10 a.m. Saturday in McPherson, Kan.
