Yellow Jackets blank Tiger women

MITCHELL, S.D. – The Dakota Wesleyan University women's soccer team dropped a hard-fought match to Black Hills State University, an NCAA Division II school, by the final of 2-0 on Wednesday at the Pepsi-Cola Soccer Complex in Mitchell, S.D.

DWU held strong for the first half before giving up two goals in the second to BHSU, a first-year program from Spearfish, S.D. Freshman Alyssa Weidler (Sioux Falls, S.D.) tallied three shots on goal in the loss.

Defensively, senior Kira Miller (Rock Springs, Wyo.) recorded eight saves in the net for the Tigers, bringing her career total to 136 saves in her two-year career at DWU.

The Tigers (0-4) travel north to take on the University of Jamestown at 3:30 p.m. Saturday in Jamestown, N.D.
