Tigers prevail in GPAC action over Dordt

MITCHELL, S.D. – A late goal in the 84th minute by freshman Alyssa Weidler (Sioux Falls, S.D.) secured a Great Plains Athletic Conference victory for the Dakota Wesleyan University women's soccer team as they defeated Dordt College 1-0 on Wednesday at the Pepsi-Cola Soccer Complex in Mitchell, S.D.

The game was a battle all night for the Tigers, but a relentless effort propelled the DWU squad to victory. Weilder tallied five shots on goal, while Jocelyn Behm (Sioux Falls, S.D.) added two shots on goal.

Senior Kira Miller (Rock Springs, Wyo.) recorded six saves in the net and is now five saves shy of the single-season record. Dordt outshot the Tigers 11-9 in the contest.

DWU recognized Clarice Adema in her fight with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma during halftime of the women's game.

The Tigers (2-13-1, 2-6-1 GPAC) host Concordia University for a GPAC showdown for Senior Day at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Pepsi-Cola Soccer Complex in Mitchell, S.D.
