MITCHELL, S.D. – The Dakota Wesleyan University women's soccer team could taste an upset as they led 1-0 heading into the second half, but the Concordia University Bulldogs tallied four goals late in the game to defeat the Tigers 4-1 in a Great Plains Athletic Conference match on Saturday at the Pepsi-Cola Soccer Complex in Mitchell, S.D.
Brittany Forsman (Sioux Falls, S.D.) tallied the lone goal for the Tigers in the first half off an assist from Alyssa Weidler (Sioux Falls, S.D.) The DWU defense was unable to stop the Bulldogs in the later portion of the game.
The Bulldogs outshot the Tigers 10-1. Senior Kira Miller (Rock Springs, Wyo.) recorded four saves, while adding her name to the DWU record books with 146 saves in a season. Miller passed Cici Schneider who previously held the record for three years with 134 saves.
The Tigers end their season at 2-14-1 with a 2-7-1 conference record. DWU graduates five seniors from the 2016 squad.
