SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The Dakota Wesleyan University women's soccer team was unable to muster any offense in Great Plains Athletic Conference action against Briar Cliff University. The Chargers tallied two goals in the second half to defeat DWU 2-0 in Sioux City, Iowa.
The Tiger defense held strong for the first half, but was unable to receive any offense in the final stanza of the game. BCU went on to score in the 65th and 88th minute, while outshooting the Tigers 23-11.
For DWU, Stephanie Banvelos (Hayward, Calif.) recorded four shots and two shots on goal, while Jocelyn Behm (Sioux Falls, S.D.) had three shots and a shot on goal. Freshman goalie Hannah Bowes (Omaha, Neb.) tallied nine saves.
The Tigers (5-9, 0-7 GPAC) welcome Midland University to the pitch for Senior Night at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Pepsi-Cola Soccer Complex in Mitchell.
