Mustangs blitz Tigers in GPAC action

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – After allowing four first-half goals, the Dakota Wesleyan University women's soccer team dropped its' Great Plains Athletic Conference game to Morningside College, 5-0 Saturday in Sioux City, Iowa.

The Mustangs (3-4, 1-0 GPAC) jumped on the scoreboard in the third minute to take an early 1-0 lead. Morningside doubled its' advantage with a goal in the 15th minute.

The Tigers (3-3, 0-2 GPAC) settled down following the early goals allowed as they recorded three shots through the first half. However, the Mustangs scored a pair of goals moments before halftime to take a 4-0 lead into halftime.

The early deficit was too much for the Tigers to overcome as they dropped their road conference matchup.

Alondra Partida (Salinas, Calif.) notched four shots on goal, while Courtney Mascarenas (Pueblo, Colo.), Bailey Nester (Hartford, S.D.) and Jocelyn Behm (Sioux Falls, S.D.) added a shot each. Hannah Bowes (Omaha, Neb.) snagged five saves in the net.

The Tigers return home to battle Presentation College at 5 p.m. on Wednesday at the Pepsi-Cola Soccer Complex.
