MITCHELL, S.D. – The Dakota Wesleyan University women's soccer team dropped its' Great Plains Athletic Conference home matchup to the College of Saint Mary, 3-0 on Saturday at the Pepsi-Cola Soccer Complex.
The Flames (4-3-1, 1-1 GPAC) jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the 27th minute as Elli McMeekin found the back of the net. Neither team could find the back of the net for the remainder of the half as the score remained 1-0 at halftime.
CSM added another goal in the 56th minute to double its' advantage. 10 minutes later, the Flames tacked on a third goal to put the Tigers (3-4-1, 0-3-1 GPAC) away in the GPAC showdown.
Alondra Partida (Salinas, Calif.) allied two shots and a shot on goal, while Megan Hertzog (Salinas, Calif.) added a shot. Hannah Bowes (Omaha, Neb.) tallied seven saves in the net for the Tigers.
DWU takes on Mount Marty College at 5 p.m. on Wednesday in Yankton, S.D.
