Tigers drop conference battle to No. 25 Warriors

FREMONT, Neb. – The Dakota Wesleyan University women's soccer team was unable to keep No. 25 Midland University out of the goal as DWU fell to Midland 8-1 in a Great Plains Athletic Conference match on Saturday in Fremont, Neb.

 The Warriors (6-2-1, 3-1 GPAC) tallied five first-half goals beginning in the 10th minute to hold a commanding 5-0 lead at halftime.

 Midland added three more goals in the beginning moments of the second half. The Tigers (3-6-1, 0-5-1 GPAC) tallied their first goal of the game in the 87th minute as Jocelyn Behm (Sioux Falls, S.D.) scored the lone goal.

 Behm finished with a goal and a shot on goal, as Alondra Partida (Salinas, Calif.) tallied three shots and Courtney Mascarenas (Pueblo, Colo.) notched a shot on goal. Alissa Betz (Bismarck, N.D.) finished with eight saves in the goal for the Tigers.

 DWU travels to take on Northwestern College for a GPAC bout at 5 p.m. on Saturday in Orange City, Iowa.
