Red Raiders shoot past DWU

ORANGE CITY, Iowa – The Dakota Wesleyan University women's soccer team was unable to find the back of the net as they were defeated by Northwestern College, 4-0 in a Great Plains Athletic Conference battle Saturday in Orange City, Iowa.

 The Red Raiders (7-4-1, 4-2 GPAC) wasted no time getting on the scoreboard as they netted their first goal in the sixth minute. 20 minutes later, NWC scored its' second goal of the first half that carried into halftime as they led 2-0.

 The Tigers (3-7-1, 0-6-1 GPAC) were unable to keep NWC out of the goal in the opening minutes of the second half as the Red Raiders added their third goal of the game in the 54th minute. NWC scored the final goal of the game in the 69th minute to down DWU in conference action.

 Courtney Mascarenas (Pueblo, Colo.) and Josephine Bardsley (Tea, S.D.) recorded the two shots for DWU. Hannah Bowes (Omaha, Neb.) tallied 14 saves in the goal.

 DWU takes on University of Jamestown at 5 p.m. Wednesday in Jamestown, N.D.
