DWU picks up second-straight win

CRETE, Neb. – Just eight minutes into the second half, Jocelyn Behm (Sioux Falls, S.D.) scored the only goal of the game as the Dakota Wesleyan University women's soccer team downed Doane University, 1-0 in a Great Plains Athletic Conference matchup Saturday in Crete, Neb.

Neither team could find the back of the net in the opening half, as Doane (5-8-1, 1-7-1 GPAC) outshot DWU, 8-4. However, DWU (5-9-1, 2-8-1 GPAC) tripled their amount of shots in the second half, including a Behm goal the proved to be all that was needed to pick up the win.

Behm recorded eight shots, five shots on goal and a goal. Alondra Partida (Salinas, Calif.) tallied five shots, while Hannah Bowes (Omaha, Neb.) finished with 10 saves and a shutout.

DWU returns home for Senior Night against Concordia University at 4 p.m. on Saturday at the Pepsi-Cola Soccer Complex in Mitchell.
