DAKOTA WESLEYAN FACES NORTHWESTERN IN GPAC ACTION ON WEDNESDAY, LOOKS TO CONTINUE MOMENTUM ON THE PITCH

MITCHELL, S.D. – Winners of two of its last three matches, the Dakota Wesleyan University women's soccer team looks to continue the momentum as it clashes with conference rival Northwestern College at 5 p.m. on Wednesday in Orange City, Iowa.

About the Tigers

  • Head coach Clayson Glasgow and the Tigers currently maintain a 3-2 record in matches decided by one goal. Four different players have scored a game-winning goal this season including a pair of such goals by DWU senior Alondra Partida (Salina, Calif.).
  • Dakota Wesleyan forward Jozy Bardsley (Tea, S.D.) leads all players with three goals in GPAC play. Both Kamryn Harrop (Willard, Utah) and Alyssa Crnic (Omaha, Neb.) meanwhile have two goals in such contests at the midfielder position.
  • Freshman Hannah Trumbull (Casper, Wyo.) currently holds a .929 save percentage in conference play after recording the 1-0 shutout victory over Concordia University on Saturday. The 5-foot-6 goalkeeper recorded 10 saves on 16 shots in the home victory. 
  • As a unit, the Blue and Gray have attempted 10-or-more shots in 7-of-10 games this season including a season-high 17 versus Dordt University.

About the Red Raiders  

  • Head coach Shannon Andringa, who took over the program in February of 2021, has the Red Raiders off to a 4-7-1 overall record and a 1-4-1 mark in conference play.
  • Junior goalkeeper Kaelin Alons has made 12 appearances in the net this season for NWC registering 86 saves and a pair of shutouts.
  • Julie Dunlap continues to pace Northwestern at the midfielder position with five goals and one assist in 12 starts this season.

Series History (Northwestern College)

  • In a series that dates back to 2005 in recent history, Wednesday's match marks the 18th meeting between both programs with NWC holding the 12-5-0 advantage.
  • The 2020 meeting saw the Red Raiders secure a 2-1 overtime victory over Dakota Wesleyan in Mitchell, S.D.
