How it Happened
The Defenders open the match aggressive offensively with the first goal of the game by the 2nd minute. However, Sydney Pike quickly stops their momentum at the 10th minute by finding the back of the net for the Tigers to keep a neutral score of 1-1.
Junior midfielder, Kazia Ohayon, keeps the Dordt defense in check with two shots on goal by the 21st & 34thminute, but both were unfortunately saved. Dordt stays on the offensive attack with three extra shots on the goal to extend their lead to 4-1 over the Tigers by the first half.
Dordt gets back on the board striking four goals to extend the lead 8-1 for the final. The Defenders offense dominates in the shots category (27-3). Dakota Wesleyan would record 10 saves in the matchup with Gregg defending the net.

"Another rough outing, but we're just going to push forward and keep working to improve. A positive takeaway is that after going down 0-1, we fought back to equalize, which is something this group has struggled to do this year. So while the result is frustrating, there was a good learning moment baked in there that we can focus on."
