TIGERS SCORE FIRST IN 33RD MINUTE, FALL 2-1 VERSUS NORTHWESTERN COLLEGE

Mitchell, S.D – Despite the early offensive momentum, the Dakota Wesleyan University women's soccer team falls short 2-1 in conference matchup with Northwestern College on Wednesday evening at home.

How it Happened

The Tigers begin the matchup defensively strong with Isabella Gregg protecting the net to record three saves by the 16^th minute. Brooke Bullington gets a look with a shot on goal in the 21^st minute, though the shot was saved.

Following, Deandrea Johnson keeps the offensive attack alive by finding the back of the net in the 33^rd minute for the 1-0 advantage entering halftime.

Entering the second half, Northwestern looks to gain the offensive momentum by scoring their first goal of the game in the 48^th minute to tie the score at 1-1. Despite the DWU defensive unit, NWC captures the 2-1 lead near the 62^nd minute.

A pair of shots by Jade Wesley and Sydney Pike in the 63^rd and 66^th minute was attempted to regain the lead for the Tigers. However, both shots were denied by the Red Raiders who secured the 2-1 victory.

In total, six different Tigers records shots in the match while Johnson successfully strikes the back of the net for DWU.
