How it Happened
The Tigers begin the matchup defensively strong with Isabella Gregg protecting the net to record three saves by the 16th minute. Brooke Bullington gets a look with a shot on goal in the 21st minute, though the shot was saved.
Following, Deandrea Johnson keeps the offensive attack alive by finding the back of the net in the 33rd minute for the 1-0 advantage entering halftime.
Entering the second half, Northwestern looks to gain the offensive momentum by scoring their first goal of the game in the 48th minute to tie the score at 1-1. Despite the DWU defensive unit, NWC captures the 2-1 lead near the 62nd minute.
A pair of shots by Jade Wesley and Sydney Pike in the 63rd and 66th minute was attempted to regain the lead for the Tigers. However, both shots were denied by the Red Raiders who secured the 2-1 victory.
