TIGERS FALL TO SAINTS AS THEY WERE UNABLE TO CAPITALIZE ON THEIR OPPORTUNITIES

Aberdeen, S.D. – Dakota Wesleyan women's soccer drops match to Presentation Wednesday evening after being held to a 0-0 tie at the half, posting five shots to the Saints one.

How It Happened

The Tigers got off to a quick start offensively as Sydney Pike posted the first shot on goal for DWU in the fifth minute. A short; few minutes later, the Saints recorded their first shot on goal as starting goalkeeper Isabella Gregg called into action to make her first save and keep the score level. Dakota Wesleyan called; in their first substitute in the 13th minute in Isabella Veffredo. Veffredo collected her first shot in the 14th minute but sent it over the crossbar. The Tigers posted back-to-back shots on goal by Annika Enevoldsen at the 20:20 and 20:32 minute marks but were still unable to find the back of the net. Madison Jenny came in at the 32nd-minute mark to send a shot toward the net but was once again off the mark as the Tigers and Saints were knotted at 0-0 heading into halftime.

PC came out in the second half finding the back of the net for the 1-0 lead over the Tigers in the 47th minute. Dakota Wesleyan was awarded a corner kick in the 54th minute but was unable to capitalize on it. After a foul in the box in the 63rd minute, the Saints were granted a penalty kick; which they converted on for the 2-0 lead over the Tigers.  DWU was held to a quiet second half offensively as they posted one corner kick and no shots.

Overall, the Tigers were outshot 8-5 in the match, while Gregg tallied four saves during the 90-minutes in goal.
