The Tigers kicked things off right away with a chance to lead almost immediately. Dakota Wesleyan continued to put the pressure on the Lancers defense earning seven corner kicks within 14-minutes. The Tigers also posted several shots in that time frame keeping the MMU goalkeeper on her toes. The Tigers opened the scoring in the 17th-minute as Lina Miranda scored the first goal for either side. DWU continued to apply pressure offensively until the 23rd- minute when the Lances got their first look on goal and scored, tying the game at 1-1. That's when the momentum changed, and Mount Marty began to apply all the offensive momentum. Heading into halftime, the Tigers and Lancers were tied at 1-1, but it was all DWU, posting eight shots and nine corner kicks. MMU posted only four shots and was awarded one corner kick in the first 45 minutes.

Just a mere three minutes later, DWU nets another goal; this time off the foot of Deandrea Johnson, giving the Tigers a 3-1 lead over MMU. Johnson had another look on goal in the 58th-minute but sent it wide. The Lancers scored their second goal of the game in the 59th-minute, cutting the DWU lead to 3-2. After multiple shots by both the Tigers and Lancers, Ramos scored the final goal of the match in the 85th-minute for the 4-2 win over the Lancers.
Overall, the Tigers posted 16 shots and 15 shots-on-goal, led by Johnson with four shots and three shots-on-goal. Johnson, Pike, Miranda, and Ramos each recorded a goal in the victory.
Hakari's Thoughts
"We have certainly played prettier soccer over the last few games, but I am proud of the ladies for finishing their chances and coming away with the victory. Having tied this team earlier in the season, beating them at their field is proof of the growth and improvements of the team."
