
MITCHELL, S.D. – Two of Dakota Wesleyan University women's soccer players received Great Plains Athletic Conference accolades with senior, Alexis Thompson and junior, Deandrea Johnson both receiving honorable mention. This is Thompson and Johnson's first all-conference selection.
Thompson started all 16 matches for the Tigers this season registering four shots (all on goal) and recording her first goal as a member of the Dakota Wesleyan Tigers, October 8th vs. Doane. Thompson was a staple on defense for DWU as well as being elected as a team captain for the 2022 season. Alexis concluded her career with 23 starts, nine shots, six on goal and the lone goal.
Johnson played in 15 matches this year, starting in 13 of those. Johnson's quick pace of play was vital to the Tiger's offense, recording a team high 2 goals on 13 shots (7 on goal) and 1 assist. Her goal at Mount Marty (10/15/22) was a game winning goal that sealed a 4-2 win for the Tigers. The other goal came in a matchup vs. Northwestern (10/5/22). Johnson in her three years with the Tigers has scored two goals every year for a total of 6 goals on 34 shots (17 on goal) and two assists.
