WOMEN'S SOCCER PICKED TO FINISH 11TH IN PRESEASON COACHES' POLL

Mitchell, S.D. – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) announced the 2023 women's soccer preseason coaches' poll this morning. Coaches among the conference picked the Tigers to finish 11th in the conference with 33 points. The Tigers were picked ahead of Waldorf (31) and Mount Marty (14).

DWU men's soccer finished last season with a 3-12-1 overall record and an 1-11 record in GPAC play. The Tigers picked up their conference win against Mount Marty (4-2).

The returning GPAC regular season champion Jimmies of Jamestown totaled 138 points and seven first place votes to top the list.  Hastings was picked second with 133 points and five first place votes. The GPAC postseason champs Briar Cliff were picked third with 118 points and one first place vote as well to round off the top three for the GPAC. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own team.

The Tiger women's soccer team opens their 2023 season with an exhibition game against D2 opponent Sioux Falls University. They follow that with a three game homestand with Bellevue on August 19, Western Iowa Tech CC August 21, and D2 NSIC program Southwest Minnesota State University August 26. The Tigers have their first GPAC matchup at Hastings September 16.
