TIGERS CLASH WITH BULLDOGS DESPITE 6-1 LOSS

Dakota Wesleyans women's soccer suffered a 6-1 defeat against GPAC opponent Concordia (NE) on Saturday night.  

How It Happened –

Concordia attacked DWU early in the matchup for the quick 1-0 lead at the 4' minute mark. The Tigers attempted to fight back with opportunities to get on the board, but the Bulldogs defense remained resilient to keep the 4-0 lead heading into halftime.  

Going into the second half of the game, the Tigers attacked early with shots by Hannah Petrucci and Makaen DeGeest but were denied by Concordia's defense. The Bulldogs remained to capitalize offensively to bring the score to 6-0 in the 56' minute. Despite the offensive pressure, Dakota Wesleyan kept their determination by earning a penalty kick in the 67' minute. Deandrea Johnson capitalized on the opportunity, scoring her second goal of the season to put the Tigers on the board. The Tigers attempted a variety of opportunities in hope for a comeback but came up short to conclude Concordia with the 6-1 victory.

The Tigers hit the road Wednesday, October 4th for GPAC (Great Plains Athletic Conference) play against Northwestern in Orange City, Iowa. The matchup is scheduled to begin at 7:15 PM.
