TIGERS DOMINATE MOUNT MARTY IN A 4-0 VICTORY

The Dakota Wesleyan women's soccer team secures the 4-0 victory over Mount Marty. Not only did the Tigers showcase offensive skills in this matchup, but also placed DWU 8th in GPAC standings, which gives the Tigers a huge playoff opportunity.  

How it Happened –

Dakota Wesleyan wasted no time from the sound of the whistle to assert their offensive pressure. Hannah Petrucci found the back of the net in the 3' minute to give the Tigers the early 1-0 lead. The Tigers continued to dictate the pace of the first half, creating multiple scoring opportunities to keep the 1-0 lead to the end of the half.  

Dakota Wesleyan continues to keep the heated offensive quickly as Sara Ewert extended the lead 2-0 with a goal in the 51' minute. The Tigers didn't stop there as Petrucci came through again with another goal in the 54' minute to keep the relentless momentum going. Mount Marty attempted to secure a comeback, though Dakota Wesleyan's defense denied the Lancers. Sara Ewert showcased her skills again with a second goal in the 75' minute, solidifying a 4-0 lead for the Tigers. After several efforts from the Lancers to get on the board, the final whistle blew as Dakota Wesleyan walked away with the 4-0 victory.  

Up Next for the Tigers –

The Tigers remain in the jungle to compete in GPAC conference play against Midland University on Saturday, October 21. The matchup is scheduled to begin at 5 P.M. in Mitchell, S.D.
