Dakota Wesleyans women's soccer team fell 1–3 in a challenging match in a field blanketed with snow against Morningside University.
How it Happened –
The game kicked off with Morningside initiating the offensive action with multiple shots on goal to set the tone of the matchup. The Tigers fought through the snowy conditions and responded with shots from Isabella Vefferdo, Hannah Meadwell, and Deandrea Johnson to find the back of the net, but came up short for a 0-0 score into halftime.
Morningside brought the same offensive pressure at the beginning of the second half, recording multiple shots on goal. As Morningside continued to press, they managed to break through with a goal to take the 1-0 lead. Dakota Wesleyan kept their ground defensively when Morningside received a penalty kick which was defended by goalkeeper, Abigail Colgrove, to keep the Tigers alive. As Morningside continued to extend their lead, Hannah Petrucci responded with a goal to get the Tigers on the board, trailing 1-3 in the final minutes of the matchup. In hopes of a comeback for Dakota Wesleyan, they came up short of the 1-3 loss in the snowy conditions.

Spot has been secured for DWU women's soccer team for GPAC conference playoffs. The Tigers will face the #1 seed Hastings College in first round of the playoffs. Playoffs are set to begin Thursday, November 2nd, location to be announced.
