Women's Track & Field Return From Winter Break At Dordt Open

The Dakota Wesleyan Tigers had their first indoor meet back from break today, as they traveled to Dordt University to comepte in the Dordt Open. 

Track Events:

  • Hailey Oswald (So.) delivered a strong performance in the 400 meter running a 1:06.
  • Dani Deffenbaugh (So.) ran in the open 200 meter, posting a time of 28.33. a personal best for the sprinter
  • Ava Ludwig (Fr.) started the season where she left off, before winter break, by hitting another personal best (PR) in the 60 meter hurdles. Finsihing a time of 10.22 seconds allowing her to qualify for finals. 

Field Events:

  • Abby Magnuson (Grad.) led the way in the Shot Put, throwing 13.28m. In the weight throw event she threw 13.37m.
  • Samantha Kludt (Jr.) threw in the shot put and weight throw. In shot Kludts best mark was 9.98m. In weight throw she threw a mark of 12.58m.
  • Elizabeth Heinen (Fr.) cleared the height of 1.50m

Looking Ahead:

The Tigers plan to use the Dordt open as a learning expereince and look ahead to compete in the Myrle Hanson Open in Spearfish, S.D. The meet will be hosted by Black Hills State University.
