Tigers fall to Flames

OMAHA, Neb. – The Dakota Wesleyan University volleyball team came into its matchup with College of Saint Mary Saturday with a chance at making the Great Plains Athletic Conference postseason tournament with a pair of wins to close the season.

The Flames did not cooperate as CSM topped DWU in three close sets. The line score was 25-22, 25-22, 25-20 and the Tigers fall to 11-19 overall and 2-13 in the GPAC heading into the final match of the regular season against Mount Marty College Tuesday.

The Tigers were led once again by junior Lauren Tadlock (Rapid City, S.D.) with 14 kills and 11 digs for a double-double. Juniors Dana Misiaszek (Mitchell, S.D.) and Sammy Fluck (Becker, Minn.) each added nine kills, while junior Michelle Van Epps (Lakefield, Minn.) had a team-high 23 assists.

Junior Taylor Spence (North Branch, Minn.) posted a team-high 14 digs, while senior Maggie Stehly (Sioux Falls, S.D.) added 12.

Fluck and Stehly will play their final regular-season matches with the Tigers against the Lancers at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in Yankton, S.D.
