Tigers hold off Trojans in five sets
MITCHELL, S.D. - The Dakota Wesleyan University volleyball team picked up their 11th win of the season, defeating Dakota State University in a five-set thriller Tuesday night at the Corn Palace in Mitchell, S.D.
 
 DWU cruised through the first two sets, 25-13 and 25-21. The Trojans rallied to take the third and fourth sets, but it was all Tigers in the fifth set defeating the Trojans 15-5.
 
Senior Lauren Tadlock (Rapid City, S.D.) led the offensive attack with 22 kills and 11 digs, followed by Katie Vetch (Rapid City, S.D.) with 12, while freshman Rebecca Frick (Yankton, S.D.) added 11 kills.
 
Setter Michelle Van Epps (Lakefield, Minn.) recorded a double-double with 53 assists and 12 digs. Van Epps now sits in fourth place, passing Briana Jong on the DWU all-time career assists chart with 2,616 in her three-year career.
 
 Taylor Spence (North Branch, Minn.) added 24 digs in the contest to lead the DWU defense.
 
 The Tigers (11-4, 1-2) visit Northwestern College (Iowa) for a Great Plains Athletic Conference matchup at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in Orange City, Iowa.
