SEWARD & CRETE, Neb. – Coming off a four-set victory over in-state foe Mount Marty College, the Dakota Wesleyan University volleyball team hit the road over the weekend, dropping a three-set match to Concordia University on Friday and a three-set match to Doane University on Saturday in Seward and Crete, Neb.
Set scores were: 25-16, 25-17 and 25-17 in favor or CUNE and 25-19, 25-20 and 25-22 in favor of Doane.
Against the Bulldogs, Rebecca Frick (Yankton, S.D.) tallied 12 kills, while freshman Chelsey Heeg (Freeman, S.D.) added six. Bridgett Knobbe (Norfolk, Neb.) recorded a double-double with 23 assists and 13 digs. Freshman Sara Herman (Reliance, S.D.) had 20 digs.
In Crete on Saturday, Kimberly VanBockern (Arlington, S.D.) and Frick recorded 10 kills each, while Heeg had five. Herman added 28 digs and Knobbe had 24 assists and nine digs.
The Tigers (15-16, 2-10 GPAC) visit Dordt College for a GPAC matchup at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in Sioux Center, Iowa.
