SIOUX CENTER, Iowa – The Dakota Wesleyan University volleyball team looked to get back on the winning track on Wednesday night in Great Plains Athletic Conference action, but the Dordt College Defenders had other ideas, taking down DWU in straight sets in Sioux Center, Iowa.
Set scores were: 25-16, 25-12 and 25-17 in favor of Dordt.
It was all Dordt in the first two sets, however the Tigers gave it all they had, going point for point with the Defenders in the third set. However, eight-straight points by Dordt proved to be enough to keep the Tigers at bay.
Rebecca Frick (Yankton, S.D.) recorded nine kills, while freshman Chelsey Heeg (Freeman, S.D.) had five kills. Bridgett Knobbe (Norfolk, Neb.) had 19 assists and Mallory Cooper (Orchard, Neb.) added 10 digs.
The Tigers (15-17, 2-11 GPAC) host College of Saint Mary for Senior Night at 6 p.m. Friday at the Corn Palace in Mitchell.
