General: Nelson stays at home as he joins the Tiger football team from Mitchell, S.D., where he was a South Dakota Class 'AA' State Football Championship winner.

High School: He was named All-State Football and was a two-time team captain ... helped his team to a 2016 South Dakota Class 'AA' State Football Championship, where he tallied a 91-yard touchdown run ... was a three-year starter and a four-time letterwinner in football ... also participated in basketball for four seasons and track for three years.
