TIGER FOOTBALL INKS 35 SIGNEES ON NATIONAL SIGNING DAY
Dakota Wesleyan football and head coach Ross Cimpl ink 35 signees on National Signing Day. Tiger football signed 15 athletes from here in South Dakota, nine from Nebraska, three from Wyoming, two from California and one from Minnesota, Colorado, Michigan, Missouri, Maryland and Utah. The 2023 DWU Tiger recruiting class totals 10 different states across the board.
MITCHELL, S.D. – Dakota Wesleyan football and head coach Ross Cimpl ink 35 signees on National Signing Day. Tiger football signed 15 athletes from here in South Dakota, nine from Nebraska, three from Wyoming, two from California and one from Minnesota, Colorado, Michigan, Missouri, Maryland and Utah. The 2023 DWU Tiger recruiting class totals 10 different states across the board.
Head Coach, Ross Cimpl had this to say about the 2023 recruiting class; "We are very proud to present the class of 2023. Our coaching staff did a tremendous job over the past year developing relationships with these young men. We were looking for players who would be a great fit in our program, and we are very excited about what these young men bring to DWU Football. This group is going to be critical to moving our program forward. We cannot wait for them to be here in the fall and add them to the tremendous group of returning players on our roster. This fall cannot come soon enough."

Aidan Brower:
2023 graduate at Sioux Valley High School where he was a two-year starter on the football team. Was named Class 11B First Team All-State, Big East All-Conference and also All-Register Team. His team finished 9-1 his junior season and 5-4 during his senior campaign. Competed in track earning three letters.
Bayler Poston:
2023 graduate at Nebraska City High School. Earned First Team All-District, All-Conference and was All-State Honorable Mention. 2021 finished with 132 rushes for 1,473 yards and had 1,734 total yards and 21 touchdowns. Also competed in wrestling and baseball.
Braeden Wulf:
2023 graduate at Lennox High School where he was a three-year letterwinner in football...finished career with 3,526 passing yards, 31 passing TD, 692 rush yards and 12 rush TD. Named to the All-State team and the All-Conference team twice. Was elected as a captain in all four sports he competed in throughout his high school career (football, baseball, basketball and track). Was on the honor roll and was a four-year starter in track and baseball while earning three letters in basketball.
Brock Dyer:
A 2023 graduate at Millard South High School where he earned three letters as a two-year starter on the football team. His team finished 9-1 his junior season and 6-5 during his senior year. Was on Honor Roll all years of high school. Also competed in wrestling earning four letters.
Carson Kruggel:
2023 graduate at Jefferson High School. Was a two-year starter at center and played a big part in his team going 12-0 and winning the championship his senior year. Also competed in bowling for one season.
Carter Skogsberg:
2023 graduate of Vermillion High School. 2022 All-State Honorable Mention and 2021 & 2022 All-Conference award winner, also earned the 2022 Dennis Henseth award. Finished 2021 season with 53 total tackles, 8 sacks and had 4 sacks in one game. On the National Honors Society and Academic All-State. Also competed in basketball.
Chase Center:
2023 graduate of Crescenta Valley High School. Three-year letter winner in football. Division and league champs. Earned the silver seal award in high school.
Destin Vargas:
2023 graduate at Winnebago High School. Earned All-State & Conference honors senior year, First Team All-Conference junior season and was an Honorable Mention during his sophomore campaign. Finished senior year with 684 yards passing, 12 TD and 1,116 rush yards with 20 TD while on the defensive side racking up 62 total tackles, 2.0 sacks, 12.0 tackles for a loss and two forced fumbles. Was on the honor roll his freshman season. Also competed in basketball and track.
Dominic McGargill:
2023 graduate at Millard South High School. Finished season with 76 tackles, 1 interception and 1 forced fumble. Earned Honor Roll all four years during career. Also competed in track for two seasons.
Gabe Beman:
2023 graduate at Lennox High School. Finished senior year with 25 total tackles and 2.0 tackles for a loss while compiling 21 total tackles, 4.0 tackles for a loss and 1 blocked kick his junior season. Also competed in wrestling earning two letters.
Hadley Wallace:
2023 graduate at Hanson High School. Earned All-Conference honors three years during his playing career while also collecting an All-State Honorable Mention. Finished career with 3,373 total yards, 41 total touchdowns, 158 total tackles and two interceptions. Was on the Honor Roll of excellence all four years, Academic All-State and the National Honor Society. Also competed in track, basketball and baseball.
Jackson Jarding:
2023 graduate at Hanson High School where he was a four-year starter on the football team. Was named three time All-Conference, 2022 All-State, 2021 All-State honorable mention, 2022 Elite 45 honorable mention. Finished the season with 846 rush yards, 10 TD and four catches for 98 yards and 1 TD while on the defensive side having 47 tackles, two INT and 206 return yards with and 1 TD. Was on the Honor Roll. Also competed in basketball, track and baseball.
Jackson Knuth:
2023 graduate at Jefferson High School. Earned a varsity letter his senior year playing on the S.D. AAA Championship team that finished the season 12-0.
Jayden Hoss:
2023 graduate at Pipestone Area Schools. Named 2022 All-District offensive lineman. Was section 3aa champs junior year when the Arrows went 11-1 and Section 3aa runner-up senior year when they went 8-3. 2020 Big South All-Conference Wrestler and ranked fourth in state for single A.
Jayden Huber:
2023 graduate at Roosevelt High School. Recorded one interception and one forced fumble. Also competed in track earning two letters.
Jed Jenson:
2023 graduate at Stevens High School. Finished season with 1,997 yards passing, 19 passing TD, 349 rush yards and 5 rush TD. Named to the 2022 All-Conference First Team.
Jeremy Sanchez:
2023 graduate at Laramie High School. Was a two-year starter in football while also competing in track earning one letter.
Jestin Bayer:
2023 graduate at Howells-Dodge Consolidated. During senior season collected First Team All-District, All-State, All-State Huskerland Prep, All-State Omaha World Herald and All-State Lincoln Journal Star as well as being named team defensive MVP. Junior season saw Bayer collect First Team All-District, All-State Grand Island Independent/Bobby Mills, All-State Huskerland Prep, All-State Omaha World Herald, All-State Lincoln Journal Star, Second Team Norfolk Daily-News All Area 8-Man Team and named team defensive MVP. Sophomore year he collected First Team All-District, Honorable Mention Norfolk Daily-News All Area 8-man team, Honorable Mention All-State Lincoln Journal, Honorable Mention All-State Omaha World Herald and named team defensive MVP. Finished senior season with 106 total tackles and 129 total tackles during his junior year. Bayer and the Jaguars went 13-0 junior season winning the State Championship and 12-1 senior year being the State Runner-up. Also competed in wrestling earning four letters and being a state qualifier his freshman year and state runner-up his junior and senior season. For academic award Bayer was on student council and on the National Honors Society his junior and senior year while also earning NDN All-Area Team and NSAA Academic All-State in wrestling his sophomore and junior year.
Kayden Pharr:
2023 graduate at Natrona County High School. Named Wyoming 2021 First Team All-State & Conference Tight End and Second Team All-Conference Defensive Lineman. During senior campaign earned First Team All-State & Conference at Tight End and Second Team at Defensive Line while also earning Super 25 Third Team and Wyoming Shrine Bowl Participant. Finished season with 11 catches for 169 yards and 3 TD while on the defensive side recording 18 total tackles, 1 fumble recovery and 1 forced fumble. Named 2022 WHSAA Academic Award (3.5 GPA or higher). Junior season team finished 7-4 and senior year concluded the season with a 8-3 record.
Kreggor Clark:
Previous College (Briar Cliff): 2021 started in all 11 games recording five catches for 36 yards and two touchdowns. 2020 started in nine games catching 11 passes for 112 yards and two touchdowns while starting all 11 games in 2019 and 2018. Was on the Deans list 7/8 semesters.
High School: 2018 graduate at Tuscarora High School. Was four-year academic letter winner and was a two-year letter winner in football.
Kristofer Brekel:
2023 graduate at Palmyra High School. Named 2022 Second Team D1 district. Was a two-year starter while also earning four letters in basketball and one year in track.
Landon Iverson:
2023 graduate at Hot Springs High School. Finished his career with 2,217 rush yards, 22 TD, 28 receptions and 387 yards while on the defensive side of the ball had 171 total tackles, 6 sacks, 8.0 tackles for a loss, 10 interceptions and 2 forced fumbles. Named Best of west 2022, Elite 45 honorable mention, 2020 most valuable special teams player and three-time black hills honors. Junior year his team finished 7-2 and senior year 8-3 earning back-to-back Black Hills Conference Champions. Also competed in basketball earning four letters.
Lane Harshman:
2023 graduate at Bishop leblond High School. Was on the Eagles District Championship and State Runner-up team. Junior season the Eagles went 8-5 while senior year Harshman and the Eagles finished with an 11-4 record. Was on the National Honors Society. Also competed in basketball and baseball.
Mason Barnhard:
2023 graduate at Elk Rapids High School. Two time All-Conference at wide receiver. Also competed in hockey and baseball.
Quade Parker:
2023 graduate of Custer High School where he was a four-year letter winner in football. The All-State Honorable Mention was top-5 in 11A in sacks for the 2021 season. Also collected Academic All-State, two time All-Conference and two-time Defensive Player of the Year honors. Was a member of the National Honor Society, Honor Roll Student and a 4H member. Parker was also a three-year letter winner in basketball and two-year winner in rodeo.
Riley Dye:
2023 graduate at Natrona County. Finished season with 41 tackles adn 5.5 sacks. Earned first team all-state honors. Also competed in wrestling as a three-year lettwinner.
Sebastian Turner:
2023 graduate at Bennington High School. Was on the two-time State Championship Badgers team when his squad went 13-0 both years. Was on the honor roll as a student for three years. Also competed in track earning two letters.
Vicente Zepeda:
Previous College (Los Angeles Valley CC): Finished career with 98 total tackles, 2 interceptions, 7.0 TFL, 12 pass break ups, 3 forced fumbles and 2 fumble recoveries. Was two-time All-Conference and was on the Dean's list his freshman year.
High School: 2021 graduate at Roosevelt High School. Sophomore season was All-Conference MVP while earning Second Team All-Conference junior year. Also competed in basketball as a four-year starter.
Weston Wollberg:
2023 graduate at Arlington High School. Finished season with 116 total tackles (68 solo), 3 forced fumbles, 3 fumble recoveries and 1 blocked punt. Two-time All-District Honorable Mention, First Team All-Area Fremont Tribune, All-State Honorable Mention Omaha World Herald. Also competed in basketball and baseball.
Wyatt Howell:
A 2023 graduate from West Grand High School where he was a four-year starter in football. Was named First Team All-Conference all four years during his career while also earning one All-State honor. Finished his career with 2,897 total yards, 54 touchdowns, 8 interceptions and 185 total tackles. Junior season his team finished 4-5 while senior year went 7-3. Also competed in wrestling earning two letters and also track.
Xzavian Ferris:
2023 graduate at West Central High School. Had 26 receptions for 347 yards and 2 TD. Was selected for 2022 Indigenous Bowl. The Trojans went 10-2 senior season finishing as the runner-up. Also competed in track and baseball.
Zarian Kama:
2023 graduate at Mountain View High School. Was voted varsity team captain for two years. Two-year starter and letterwinner in football.
