17 TIGER FOOTBALL PLAYERS EARN DAKTRONICS NAIA SCHOLAR-ATHLETE
Mitchell, S.D. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) released the 2023 Daktronics NAIA Football Scholar-Athletes. The 2023 list features 968 student-athletes, spread across 79 schools, who achieved at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average (GPA) at their institution. In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, must appear on the eligibility certificate for the sport and have attended one full year at said institution.
Dakota Wesleyan football had 17 players named as 2023 Daktronics NAIA Football Scholar-Athletes. The list includes sophomores, Brodey Ballinger, Grayson Hanson, Jake Hedges, John Pica, Koby Kayser, Landon Ruesink, and Samuel Welch. Juniors, Layton Eide, Connor Kerkhove, and Ben Harms. Seniors, Austin Lee, Caleb Maciejewski, Connor Tapia, Ethan Engen, and Gavin Spurrell. Also had two graduate students in Adam DeJong and Jamin Arend.
