Men’s golf competes at Mid-South Classic
NEWTON, Kan. – In their last tournament before the conference championships, the Dakota Wesleyan University men’s golf team competed at the Mid-South Classic and tied for ninth on Monday and Tuesday at the Sand Creek Station Golf Course in Newton, Kan.
NEWTON, Kan. – In their last tournament before the conference championships, the Dakota Wesleyan University men's golf team competed at the Mid-South Classic and tied for ninth on Monday and Tuesday at the Sand Creek Station Golf Course in Newton, Kan.
The Tigers tallied an opening round total of 312, a second-day total of 303 and a third-round total of 316 for a grand total of 931 on the week.
Cade Carpenter (Mitchell, S.D.) tied for 26th after carding a 75 on day one, a 76 on day two and a 74 on the final round. Nolan Wiegel (Huron, S.D.) tied for 41st after recording a total of 231 in the tournament.
Bennett Lundy (Aberdeen, S.D.) tied for 53rd after finishing with a 238, while Tony Hayes (Sioux Falls, S.D.) finished in 55th as he carded an 80, a 76 and an 83 over the week. Justice Morrison (Norris, S.D.) rounded out the top five as he came in 65th place and a grand total of 247.
DWU competes in the GPAC Championships on Friday and Saturday at the Indian Creek Golf Course in Elkhorn, Neb.
