DWU volleyball falls to Briar Cliff in 3 games
MITCHELL, S.D. – After dropping the first two games, the Dakota Wesleyan University volleyball team fought hard in the third before falling to Briar Cliff University in a Great Plains Athletic Conference matchup Wednesday at the Christen Family Athletic Center in Mitchell, S.D.
MITCHELL, S.D. – After dropping the first two games, the Dakota Wesleyan University volleyball team fought hard in the third before falling to Briar Cliff University in a Great Plains Athletic Conference matchup Wednesday at the Christen Family Athletic Center in Mitchell, S.D.
The game scores were 25-17, 25-15, 26-24 in the second loss for the Tigers to the Chargers this season.
DWU was led on offense by sophomore Lauren Tadlock (Rapid City, S.D.), who finished with 13 kills in the loss. Sophomore Taylor Spence (North Branch, Minn) and sophomore Mallory Jark (Warner, S.D.) each added six kills, while setter Michelle Van Epps (Lakefield, Minn.) finished with a match-high 28 assists.
On defense, the Tigers got a match-high 21 digs from junior Libero Maggie Stehly (Sioux Falls, S.D.), while Spence added 14 digs.
The Chargers were led by Katelin Langel with 13 kills, while Amy Frank had a team-high 19 digs.
The Tigers (5-15, 0-10 GPAC) look to snap their seven-match losing streak against Presentation College on Dig Pink night at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Christen Family Athletic Center.
