Bio
General: The reigning GPAC Player of the Year returns for his senior season ... after making history a season ago, the elusive dual-threat quarterback will lead the Tigers in his final campaign in a Tiger uniform.
Junior (2016): Turner was a true dual-threat during the 2016 season through the air and on the ground, completing 63 percent of his passes, while rushing for an average of 95 yards per game ... He tallied eight touchdowns rushing and 39 passing, shattering the record for total touchdowns in a season set by Mark Conrad in 1996 ... Turner's largest offensive effort came in a 42-37 victory over Dordt College on Oct. 8 after passing for 402 yards and three touchdowns, while tallying 204 yards on the ground and a score ... He passed Jon Bane in the DWU record books for passing yards in a season with 3,197 set in 2011 ... Turner sits 1,920 yards shy of the career passing record, also set by Jon Bane from 2010-13 ... He helped the Tigers secure two more records during the 2016 season ... Turner and Co. broke the record for total offensive yards in a season with 5,694, almost 1,000 more yards than the record of 4,547 set in 2013 ... The Tiger offense also broke the record for total passing yards in a season with 3,229 as the previous record of 2,944 yards was set in 2011.
Sophomore (2015): Finished a phenomenal second season with the Tigers … named the GPAC Offensive Player-of-the-Week for his performance against Briar Cliff, went 17-of-28 passing for 317 yards and also carried the ball 19 times for 122 yards … also named GPAC Offensive Player-of-the-Week for his performance against Midland, as he finished the game with 257 yards on 19-of-34 passing and carried the ball 19 times for 110 yards … selected to the All-GPAC Second Team offense … accounted for 3,255 total yards in his second season … passed for 2,370 yards and ran for 889 more, while accounting for 35 total touchdowns … more than doubled his passing touchdown total and cut his interceptions in half from his freshman season.
Freshman (2014): As a freshman he played in 11 games … passed for 13 touchdowns and rushed for eight touchdowns … threw for 1,741 yards and rushed for 357 yards
High School: A three-year starter and letterwinner for the Greyhounds ... competed 89 of 175 passes for 1,204 yards and 11 touchdowns as a senior ... also ran the ball 115 times for 904 yards and 17 touchdowns ... recorded 58 solo tackles and 19 assisted tackles ... earned All-State and All-Conference honors ... an All-Star Team selection ... part of the 2012 conference championship team that went 11-1 ... threw for 1,286 yards and 16 touchdowns and ran for 518 yards and 11 touchdowns as a junior ... earned All-State Honorable Mention and All-Conference honors ... threw for 1,288 yards and 16 touchdowns and ran for nine more touchdowns as a sophomore ... earned All-Conference accolades ... lettered three times in baseball ... a member of the Honor Roll.
